Top 10 Tips and Advice for Easing Pregnancy for Scoliosis Sufferers

Back pain during pregnancy is not a new concept, but for people who suffer from scoliosis require a second thought to be given before, they plan to go through the process of pregnancy. Scoliosis is the disease of the spine in which the posture of the spine is deviated to form S or C shaped curvature, which can turn to be quite painful during pregnancy. However, this is not a reason that why you should postpone your pregnancy, as you can still go through pregnancy by using proper pain management techniques.

Back pain during pregnancy is a normal phenomenon that requires no fear. All the discomforts that you will be facing during pregnancy are because of the pressure that your little one inside your tummy is going to cause. Moreover, if you are a scoliosis patient then the chances of increased back pain is higher than what you would normally expect leaving you with a question of whether the back pain is owing to scoliosis or pregnancy. • Stand up straight and tall

• Hold your chest high

• Stop locking your knees.

• Sit on a chair that will support your back or use a pillow.

2. Wear the correct clothes and accessories:

What you wear also matters while you are pregnant and is a victim of scoliosis. Some of the clothes that can help you in alleviating the back pain during pregnancy when you are a scoliosis sufferer are the use of maternity pants and supportive waistbands. This is also advisable to wear low-heeled flat shoes to remove the strain that high-heeled shoes can cause on both your spine, back and neck.

3. Lift properly:

Whether you have scoliosis or not you are always asked to lift objects as per the size and weight of the objects in a proper manner to prevent not only back pain, but also to be gentle on your delicate spine. And if you have scoliosis, and on top of that if you are pregnant, see that you lift objects appropriately, for example, lift heavy objects by sitting to the level of the object and then stand up slowly and steadily. 4. Sleep properly:

The good thing while you sleep is to have a deep sleep but conscious by developing the habit of sleeping on one side. The doctor will advise you which side to sleep depending on the posture of the baby. This is also advisable to keep your knees bent while you sleep, and place pillows between them (there is no point in giving heed to cultural taboos, just ignore them even if you are hurt), and use another pillow under the abdomen to bear the whole weight and/or use a full length pillow.

5. Try heat or cold or massage therapy:

I will strongly recommend this to anyone suffering from pain for this helped me when I was suffering from severe neck pain. A good hot mat under the area of pain relieves not only the pain but also the fear of catching cold when you use a cold mat. In contrast, the cold massage therapies are also equivalently good and choose the one that works the best for you. Alternatively, you could also ask someone to massage a balm or pain relieving ointments, but only after consult a doctor, for the doctor may suggest a professional massage therapy if required. Listen to your gynecologist and chiropractic, and see that you link both of them.

6. Follow a gentle exercise regime:

These days people become pregnant in their thirties and forties, that they get pregnant pass through their age and are therefore vital that you regularly check with your gynecologist. Besides, if you are suffering from scoliosis, the chances of the back pain becoming severe are higher, despite the established fact that there is no relationship between scoliosis and pregnancy. It is hard explain, but doing this is best explained by the muscles you squeeze if you are going to pee and you force yourself to stop. The muscles you are suing thee are the pelvic floor and you are doing a kegel exercise. Practice and then try while lying down, sitting, and in other positions for different angles and muscle contractions.

You and I are skeptics, and that means we disbelieve most of what we hear and read, unless we are presented with proof. We consider ourselves followers of Cause-And-Effect, not superstition, right?

This is plain common-sense. Einstein said, ‘Common-sense is the accumulation of our prejudices for the first eighteen years of our lives.’ But common-sense is better than believing nonsense, and being a fool. We are and remain practical folks, skeptics.

Skeptic is Latin for thoughtful, inquiring, and to examine, look. Synonyms are: doubters, unbelievers, cynics, leery, and questioning. Nice traits say I.

But with a background in law, we have been trained to absolutely reject beliefs and ideas without controls. We support the scientific method. Show me the verified results of experiments. We need and demand evidence before we give away our mind, right? Has it been replicated by others? Why not? We are skeptics who read and listen to ideas and beliefs, no matter how outrageous, and ask for proof.

Bagha

The Bagha is over four-thousand years old and a part of ancient Yoga. What is it? You place the tip of your tongue for a split second to the front area of the roof of your mouth. Why? When you trigger this physical (conscious) act, and simultaneously produce a mental-movie (visualize) a goal, you improve the odds of attracting and manifesting your dreams and goals.

So What

If you use the Bagha for protection from negative energies surrounding you (sick people in a hospital),

It affects your Emotional reactions to your circumstances. We are social emotional animals, and using the Bagha plays into both those human traits, instincts, and programming.

Wait a minute – what happened to manifesting? Einstein also said, ‘Do your own mind-experiments.’

Use the Bagha (touch the tip of your tongue to the front roof of your mouth) when you feel stressed, panicked, or anxious. Say, “Bagha – Protection”. Does it work? It is your experiment, so you decide.

Is it scientific? Wrong question. Does it work for you? Is it merely a coincidence? Results are the only proof we all accept, right? Napoleon Hill said, “What we can conceive and belief, we can achieve.”

He was an arch skeptic, but he tested the effectiveness of many weird ideas.

Gambling 

Huh? Five-minutes prior to entering the Poker Tournament room do a Bagha. Shut your eyes without being obvious, create, visualize and imagine a time in your life when you were outrageously successful

with regards to money. For me it was in the vault of my bank, counting my municipal bonds and stacks of Ben Franklins. Capture that incident again for 10-seconds. See the mental-movie and feel it.

But what if you have never had a wealth moment of outrageous success? Follow Professor William James, who produced the Law of Acting-As-If. He said, mentally pretend as if you did have such an experience, and visualize it now. He taught at Harvard Medical School and believed in the power of the mind to use expectation to attract success.

Now visualize from where you are now – in the casino. Use your V-A-K senses (visual-auditory-kinisthetic) and add if appropriate, Gustatory (taste) and Olfactory (smell). Oh yeah, Kinesthetic is tactile, haptic, your sense of touch (feelings). Visualize what?

Mentally visualize the process of the Poker tournament as you want it to play out. Use your senses to imagine yourself taking in the Jackpots often. See yourself smiling and laughing and raking in your chips. How long?

Ten-seconds are good, twenty-seconds are better.

Thirty-seconds, broken up into two fifteen-second segments are excellent. Now visualize the hostesses bringing you wine and caviar, and feel and taste them as if you are actually consuming them with relish. The Bagha is giving you a sense of emotional confidence. You are feeling sharper going into the Poker room. Pay strict attention to your mind experiment.

Will this Bagha nonsense attract wealth, money and success to you? It is your mind-experiment, you decide based on the results, right?

Positioning

Every thought human have are located on a specific territory of your mind. Positioning is discovering these locations to use in the present to attain your goals and burning desires. Huh?

Make-believe (law of Acting-As-If) you have a large clock in your hands. Think of a food or drink you dislike and avoid like the plague. For many folks that thought (emotion) is located at 7pm. That is its mental position. Now think of foods or drink you absolutely love to consume. For many it is positioned on your mental clock at 1pm.

If you want to lose weight you avoid delicious but fattening foods by reversal. When you get the desire for say, chocolate, use your imagination to tune into 7pm – the foods you hate. Now your desire and taste for chocolate disintegrates emotionally.

Gambling 

Imagine a time you were very lucky and maybe won the Jackpot. It could have been when you were a kid at a game or sport or playing poker. Bring back that emotion with all your senses, see it, hear the sounds, and feel your sensations of success. That mental location is just above your forehead – say, 12 noon.

Now enter the Poker Room, and intentionally move your eyes ‘Upward’ toward your forehead.

How long? Two-second is nice, five-seconds is better. When you Position your mind to previous success you trigger your brain to bring about similar circumstances. When I witnessed an experiment with Positioning, she won the first jackpot.

I attributed that to coincidence and random luck. After she won the second Jackpot, I was surprised.

There was more to come but I do not want to create a gambler’s mindset that would destroy your mind experiment integrity.

Money Magnet

Wealth is totally (100%) about your attitude. So is winning at the Poker Table. There may be such a thing as money-consciousness. What is it? A Rhythm (vibration) that attracts dinero to some fortunate people. Some say it is the use and regulation of your Electro-Magnetism. That is your vibrational-frequency.

How 

Can you tense your shoulders, neck and head and maintain it for about ten-seconds? Do this in the Poker Room. Simultaneously see, visualize and imagine yourself winning the Jackpot. This is a process, so see the entire hand being played out in your mind, not just the end product of winning the Jackpot.

Release the stress in your shoulders, neck and head after each hand. Hold the tension for no more than ten-seconds at a time, and then release. Wait until the next hand and do it again, while visualize your burning desire. You may be affecting your electro-magnetic vibrational frequency.

Can you visualize money flowing, flying and attracting itself to your hands? That’s exactly what mental gamblers do. They call it being a Money-Magnet. Does it really work, you must decide if you are willing to do a mind experiment. What I have seen threatens my status as a skeptic.

5 Healthy Tips for Bronchial Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

With the holiday season fast approaching and with added travel and holiday stress, a change in sleeping behavior may affect your asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Here are some helpful tips this holiday season that may help prevent exacerbation of asthma or COPD. The common symptoms of bronchial asthma are nighttime cough, wheezing and shortness of breath. The common exacerbation cause of bronchial asthma is respiratory tract infection, postnasal drip, gastroesophagel reflux disease (GERD) or heartburn.

1. Sleep adequately. You will want to sleep a little longer and go to bed earlier by the start of the holiday season if you feel there will be sleep deprivation on the weekend if you are planning to stay up late. Maybe, if this is the case, you will want to start going to bed a half an hour to an hour earlier from now on so that it helps the immunity and prevents infection.

2. Avoid junk food. Needless to say, it is very tempting but it may be a good idea to replace junk food snacks with good and healthy foods, thereby preventing bronchospasm, mucus formation, and nighttime symptoms of bronchial asthma. Cookies, pasties, etc., have refined sugar, which cause mucus formation and bronchospasm. Making sure a high-fiber diet is continued during the holiday season so there are normal bowel movements every day in the morning helps to prevent bronchospasm. If one is not getting a high-fiber diet regularly, he/she may help with starting one. Eating lots of fruits and vegetables helps. Apples, pears, grapes, strawberries, carrots, cabbage, and spinach to name a few, are good sources of healthy fiber. Understanding the basics of the diet and what needs to be avoided on a regular basis may help prevent exacerbation of asthma. Avoid dairy products such as cold food, ice cream (produces bronchospasm and mucus), bananas (increases sputum production and chest congestion), cold water or ice water or ice drinks also increase bronchospasm and replace them with room temperature water or drinks. Just like cold weather makes asthma worse, so do cold liquids and drinks which create winter inside the body. It slows stomach digestion, producing bronchospasm. We have seen in our practice that stopping this has decreased the need of a rescue inhaler by more than 50% in about 6 weeks in many asthma patients and in many after only a few months. It may help if one is looking for ideas that help to decrease the need for rescue inhaler use.

3. Compliance with the treatment of bronchial asthma. Continue the regular inhalers, nebulizers and other medication as prescribed by your health care professional. Understand the correct technique of the inhaler or nebulizer. Get familiar with the medication and its normal dose, the maximum dose that is allowed and its common side effects. If you feel that you are getting any of the side effects, let your doctor know about it. Make sure you rinse your mouth after the use of the inhaler or nebulizer to prevent oral thrush. Use the peak flow meter to check the asthma symptoms and keep a log of it. If one is a smoker than smoking cessation is the key to improve health, otherwise bronchial asthma or COPD will not get better and with time it will get worse. Inhalers or medication will not work with ongoing smoking. A person can end up with respiratory failure and be on a ventilator with ongoing smoking if asthma or COPD exacerbation cannot be controlled with nebulizers, steroids and antibiotics. Smoking cessation is key.

4. Exercise. Regular exercise helps to prevent the bronchospasm and chest congestion. In patients with exercise-induced bronchospasm, they may need to take the inhaler prior to work out. This is equally true for the patient with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease as well as bronchial asthma patients.

5. Yoga and Pranayama. Pranayama are the breathing exercises of yoga. One may learn Pranayama and many other exercises of yoga to reduce stress from a local yoga instructor, which may help prevent bronchospasm, chest congestion, and nighttime wheezing. Yoga exercise is very different from a regular work out or aerobic exercise. After yoga, one may feel more relaxed and calm. Both exercises have their own merits and limitations and based on one’s personality one may favor one over the other. The goal is to do one or both than none at all.

In our practice, we have patients with severe persistent bronchial asthma symptoms on round-the-clock inhalers and nebulizers with multiple modalities of treatment and exercise. Yoga has shown such improvement in some patients that they do not need a need of inhalers or nebulizers. The point here is to say that yoga exercise and/or other regular or aerobic exercises do help if one does them regularly and helps the asthma symptoms as well as overall health when done regularly along with medical treatment.

The planets are in the state of weakness if occupying a specific sign and fail to promote/protect the characteristics and specifications ruled by them. In the state of debilitation, the planets are not capable of producing results expected to them. For e.g. Moon is debilitated in the sign Scorpio, restrict the characteristic of Moon and the house governed by the Moon.

Secrets of Doing Yoga in the Morning

Being an inexperienced or an advanced user of yoga, everyone must start the day by doing yoga in the morning. If you are inexperienced and want to start the day through the yogic way, then you must practice yoga each morning as a routine.

Before you start doing yoga you first need to know, how you could gain all the benefits of yoga or, where to start or what do I do now?

Actually, yoga has various aspects as far as therapeutic uses are concerned.

However, you should put all the therapeutic benefits of yoga to the dustbin for now and answer yourself,

Where to start?

Let me confess one thing about yoga to you that, most of the diseases get cured by doing the routine yoga in the morning daily.

Why should I exercise yoga according to a routine daily? Specially, in the morning…

It’s because, to cure most of the diseases you must remove impurities from your body. That will be done if you practice some somewhat special yoga exercises daily in the morning.

Please follow the step-by-step process of daily morning yoga exercises below.

Yoga in the morning:

Wake up very early in the morning. If possible, please wake up at 5:00 a.m. I hugely recommend.

Clean your face, eyes and brush teeth, etc.

Now take a glass of warm water and add a lemon and very little salt into it and drink it.

Now do not waste any more time, and you should start doing yoga. The first yoga postures is Viparitkarani Mudra.

ViparitKarani Mudra: Lie down on a soft mat on the ground with the legs stretched out, here in this position the inside your legs will be touching each other and your hands will be lying by the side of the thighs. Bend your hands in the elbow and place your palms on the hips. Lift your legs up and raise your hips with the support of your hands upward and breathe in deeply. Hold this position for 6-8 seconds and breathe out slowly. Drop your hips first, then followed by your legs. Breathe normally. Practice this Yoga posture for four times.

Shalbhasana: Lie down on your stomach. Your legs are stretched and the hands are lying by the side of the respective thighs. Breathe in and raise your legs together upward up to the thigh without bending your legs in the knees. Hold your breath there for eight seconds and then slowly drop your legs on the ground. Breathe out slowly. You can do it with a single leg to start with, if you find it a bit difficult at the beginning. Practice this Yoga posture for four times.

Padahstasana: You are done with all the lying postures in the morning. Now move on and stand up straight. In this pose, your heels are touching each other. Breathe in and raise both your hands upward above your head by the side of ears while palms are facing outward. Slowly breathe out and lower down your body by bending in the waist forward. Place your palms on the ground by the side of your respective feet. Do not bend your knees here in this position at all. Try to place your head between your knees. Hold your breath out there and remain in this position for 8-10 seconds, then return slowly to the starting position and breathe normally. This yoga posture you should practice for four times.

By the time you finish these postures, I am sure you will definitely feel some pressure in your stomach and clear your bowels.

You are fresh like never before, now.

You are finished with postures and now move onto the Mudra section and master Agnisara Dhauti.

Agnisara Dhauti: This is very easy to practice, but a bit difficult to follow properly. However, I will explain it to you without hiding anything behind. First sit down in Siddhasana posture with the spine erect. Look straight ahead. Now deep breath in slowly and squeeze your lower part of the abdomen and navel region upward. Try to touch your spine. Hold this position for six seconds and breathe out slowly as well as return to the starting position. Practice this cleansing process for at least 10 times. It is hugely effective to remove all the impurities from your stomach as well as your body. It is guaranteed.

Now move onto Pranayama section and master Bhraman Pranayama.

Bhraman Pranayama: This is a very easy to follow Pranayama, but needs to master some technique to practice this. This time you will start the morning walk, but not the traditional morning walk you are going to perform this time. You will do the morning walk in Yoga style. Inhale and count one and place first step forward. Inhale and count two and place second step forward. Keep doing this up to four counts.

This is like, inhale 1-step 1, inhale 2-step 2, inhale 3-step 3, and inhale 4-step 4. Walk step-by-step with inhalation in every step. Now do the exact opposite of the inhalation. Breathe out and count one and place your first step forward, then breathe out and count two and place your second step forward. Keep doing this up to four counts. After two to three days, you will walk in rhythm with Yogic Pranayama. Practice this Pranayama for six to seven minutes.

Then you can devote some more time after one month of practicing these exact steps detailed above by tweaking your Yogic routine with some new kind of Yoga Posture’s entries.

Process is the same, but you can get a huge benefit by practicing Sun Salutation just before the Viparitkarani Mudra. These twelve postures of Sun Salutation will make you prepare to perform any Yoga Asanas in the future as well as this is the only Yogic workout, which has capabilities of removing every single blockage from your entire body system. You can also add two Pranayama just after Agnisara Dhauti as Kapalbhati Pranayama and Anulom-Vilom Pranayama.
